DISUSED CORK TO YOUGHAL RAILWAY LINE
Work began on this line in November 1859. The original list of stations on this line were Summerhill North, Blairs Halt, Tivoli, Dunkettle, Little Island, Queenstown Junction(later Cobh Junction, then Glounthaune), Carrigtwohill, Midleton, Mogeely, Killeagh and Youghal. The Glounthaune to Youghal branch saw it's last passenger train in 1963 although goods trains, specials and summer excursions ran until 1988. This part of the line was never officially closed. The Glounthaune to Midleton branch was re-opened on 30/07/2009. Some of the work in progress for this re-opening is evident in some of the photos. The track and trackbed still remains in tact from Midleton to Youghal.
